I engaged Eric M. Pfeifle at Holland & Knight for assistance with a commercial loan restructuring for my small business. My case involved navigating complex covenants with a regional bank here in Texas. Eric's knowledge of banking and finance law was evident; he correctly identified the key leverage points in our loan agreement and his analysis of the regulatory implications was thorough. While the legal work product was solid, there were noticeable delays in receiving responses to emails, sometimes taking several business days for a simple update. Given the fast-paced nature of our negotiations, this created some anxiety. Furthermore, the billing structure, while standard for a firm of this caliber, felt steep for the amount of direct attorney interaction we had. Eric is clearly a capable attorney in Dallas's banking law scene, and he successfully helped us reach a resolution. For straightforward, high-stakes matters where cost is less of a concern, he is a good option. For clients who prioritize frequent, proactive communication and clearer budget management, you may want to set very explicit expectations upfront.
