Competent on employment matters, but communication was inconsistent

Beth Skaggs at Varnum handled a sensitive workplace investigation for our small business. Her background in labor and employment law was evident, and her recognition in that field is well-deserved. She provided solid legal analysis on the potential risks. However, the experience was mixed. While the final outcome was satisfactory, there were periods where responses to emails took several days, leaving us in the dark on next steps. For straightforward matters, her 13 years of experience from U of M Law serve her well, but managing client expectations and proactive updates could be improved. She’s capable, but the service level felt standard, not exceptional.
