Competent handling of my small business contract dispute

I hired Liza Favaro at Giarmarco, Mullins & Horton to assist with a contract dispute with a former supplier for my Detroit-based retail shop. Her background in commercial litigation, which I noted she's been recognized for, was evident in her grasp of the legal issues. She drafted a solid demand letter and negotiated a settlement that protected my interests. However, the experience was a bit mixed. While her legal work was sound, communication sometimes lagged. There were a few instances where I had to follow up more than once for updates, and responses could take several business days. As a newer attorney, I felt she was still finding her footing in managing client expectations and workflow. The outcome was ultimately satisfactory, and for straightforward matters, she demonstrates clear competence. I would recommend her with the caveat to be prepared for a less proactive communication style than you might find with a more seasoned practitioner.
