A Strategic Partner for Our Small Business

As a small manufacturing company in Toledo, we faced a complex wage and hour dispute with a former employee that quickly escalated. We engaged Elizabeth Bolduc at Eastman & Smith after a colleague's recommendation, and her guidance was invaluable. Her background in labor and employment law, particularly her recognized expertise in management-side issues, was immediately apparent. Elizabeth didn't just react to the lawsuit; she conducted a thorough audit of our existing policies, identifying the root procedural gaps that led to the claim. Her approach truly mirrored her stated goal of being a long-term business partner. She successfully negotiated a very favorable settlement, but more importantly, she helped us implement new timekeeping and classification practices that have fortified our entire operation. Her strategic thinking saved us significant potential liability. The only reason this isn't a perfect 5-star review is that during the initial, most intense phase, there were a couple of instances where our emails took a full business day to receive a response, which added to our anxiety. That said, once engaged, her communication was clear and thorough. We now consider her a trusted advisor and have retained her for ongoing counsel. Her practical, business-minded approach from the University of Toledo College of Law is a real asset to Northwest Ohio businesses.
