Competent but communication could be more consistent

I hired Liz Crosby at Schneider Bell to represent my small business in a wrongful termination claim brought by a former employee. Her background in employment law for management was evident from the start; she clearly understood the nuances of Ohio employment statutes and her recognition in that field is well-deserved. The case involved navigating both potential litigation and workers' compensation implications, and her knowledge in those intersecting areas was solid. Ultimately, the matter was settled favorably without going to court, which was our goal. However, the experience was a mixed bag. While Liz was thorough in her legal analysis, there were periods where communication lagged. Responses to emails sometimes took several days, and it wasn't always clear what the next steps or timelines were without me initiating follow-up. For a straightforward matter, her six years of experience served well, but the administrative side of client service felt just adequate. She is a capable attorney who knows her stuff, but managing client expectations and maintaining proactive communication could be improved. I would describe her work as professionally competent, though the overall experience didn't fully meet my expectations for partnership.
