Competent IP guidance, though communication could be more consistent

I engaged Doug Fyfe at Gowling WLG for advice on protecting a new software module. His nine years of experience in Intellectual Property Law were evident; he provided a solid analysis of our patentability and trademark options, and his recognition in the field is well-deserved. The strategy he outlined was sound. However, the experience was mixed. Responses to emails were sometimes delayed, leaving us waiting for updates at critical junctures. While the final work product was professionally executed, the process felt less collaborative than I had hoped. He is clearly knowledgeable, but the client service aspect felt just adequate for the premium expected from a firm of this caliber.
