Competent handling of a workplace policy review

I hired Dina Mastellone at Jackson Lewis to help our small business in Portland update our employee handbook and navigate a tricky disciplinary situation. Her background in employment law for management was evident; she was thorough in her analysis of state regulations and the firm's reputation in this area is solid. The work product was correct and she is clearly knowledgeable, having been recognized in her field. However, the experience felt somewhat transactional. Communication sometimes had longer lag times than I expected, and I occasionally had to follow up for updates. For straightforward employment law matters, she gets the job done competently. I just hoped for a bit more proactive guidance and a smoother client experience given her years since law school graduation.
