Competent real estate guidance, but communication could improve

I hired Deepa Balavijayan to assist with the purchase of a condo in Atlanta, a process complicated by some unexpected title issues. Her knowledge of Georgia real estate law was evident, and she efficiently navigated the title problem, which gave me confidence. It's clear why she has been recognized in this practice area since 2022. However, my experience was mixed. While the legal work was solid, there were periods where responses to emails took several days, leaving me in the dark during anxious moments. The process also moved at a steady, if somewhat slower, pace than I had hoped. For straightforward transactions, her expertise from Emory Law is a definite asset, and she successfully closed my deal. Yet, for clients who prioritize frequent updates and very proactive communication, setting clear expectations upfront would be advisable. She is a capable attorney who got the job done.
