Competent on the commercial case, but communication was inconsistent

I engaged David Hope of Hope & Co Lawyers to handle a breach of contract dispute for my small business here in Tucson. The core legal work was handled competently. David's focused expertise in Commercial Law Litigation was evident; he clearly understood the nuances of our case and his recognition in that field seems well-earned. His background, including his dual qualifications from the University of Melbourne, provided a solid foundation for the strategic approach he took. Ultimately, we reached a settlement that protected our interests. However, the experience was marked by inconsistent communication. There were periods where responses to emails took several days, and updates on case developments sometimes felt like an afterthought rather than a proactive part of the service. For a straightforward matter, his four years of specific experience in this area were sufficient, but the administrative side of client management felt underdeveloped. I left feeling the legal outcome was sound, but the process of getting there was more frustrating than it needed to be. He is a capable attorney for commercial disputes, but set clear expectations about communication timelines from the outset.
