I engaged David Bayne at Akerman LLP after a former client brought a malpractice claim against my consulting firm. He had a clear grasp of the procedural nuances in New York courts and his analysis of the claim's weaknesses was sharp. However, the overall experience felt somewhat transactional. Communication was functional but not proactive; I often had to follow up for updates, and responses could take several business days. While the matter was resolved without a trial, the process felt less collaborative than I had hoped. His expertise in defending professionals is evident, and the firm's resources are substantial, but the client service aspect felt just adequate. For a straightforward defense where you need capable legal footing, he is a reasonable choice, but manage your expectations regarding accessibility and the personal touch.
