Competent real estate attorney, but communication was inconsistent

David Hill handled the acquisition of a small commercial property for our business in Grand Rapids. His deep experience in real estate law, particularly with sale transactions, was evident. He was thorough with the due diligence and the closing documents, and his 17 years of practice at a firm like Barnes & Thornburg certainly showed in the final product. We appreciated that he leveraged his recognized expertise in this area. However, our experience was mixed on the service side. There were periods where responses to emails took several days, and at times, we felt we had to follow up to get updates on standard milestones. While the legal work itself was solid and he clearly knows Michigan real estate inside and out, the overall client management and proactive communication didn't quite meet our expectations for the level of firm. He's a capable attorney who got the job done correctly, but the process could have been smoother.
