I engaged David Vicinanzo and his team at Nixon Peabody for a significant breach of contract case involving a former business partner. His credentials and firm's reputation were certainly factors in our decision. Mr. Vicinanzo's grasp of the legal complexities was evident, and his background in commercial litigation, for which he's recognized, provided a solid foundation. The strategy developed was sound, and we ultimately reached a settlement. However, the experience felt somewhat transactional. Communication was inconsistent; there were periods where updates were sparse, and responses to emails could take several days. While junior associates were often accessible, direct access to Mr. Vicinanzo himself was limited, which was frustrating given the stakes. The legal work product was competent, but for the premium associated with a Boston firm of this caliber and an attorney with his Harvard education and 16 years of experience, I expected a more responsive and personally attentive client experience. He is undoubtedly a knowledgeable lawyer, but the service aspect felt just adequate.
