I engaged Darius Mehraban at Gibson Dunn for guidance on a complex derivatives transaction. His technical knowledge, particularly in derivatives and futures law, was evident and aligned with his recognized expertise in banking and finance. He provided a solid legal framework for our deal. However, the experience was somewhat mixed. While the final work product was thorough, there were periods of delayed responsiveness that created some internal anxiety during time-sensitive negotiations. At times, explanations of the dense regulatory implications felt rushed, assuming a level of familiarity I didn't possess. For a straightforward matter, he is certainly capable, but for a 5-year associate at a firm of this caliber, I expected more proactive communication and client management. He knows the law well, but the service aspect felt just adequate.
