Competent on the case, but communication could improve

I hired Daniel Sánchez at OLIVARES to assist with a trademark registration and a subsequent dispute with a local business that was using a confusingly similar logo. Mr. Sánchez's six years of experience were evident in his meticulous preparation of the filing and his strategic approach to the cease-and-desist process. His recognition in intellectual property law gave me confidence in his technical knowledge, and the outcome for my small business was ultimately positive. However, my experience was a mixed bag. While his work on the documents was thorough, there were often significant delays in receiving email replies, sometimes stretching to several business days, which left me feeling anxious during critical phases. Setting expectations around timelines and costs also felt a bit vague at the outset. He is clearly a capable attorney in the Chicago general practice scene, but the client service aspect felt just adequate. For straightforward legal matters where you can be patient, he will get the job done, but don't expect constant hand-holding.
