Competent handling of a workplace policy review

I engaged Daniel Kelly at Felhaber Larson to assist my small business with updating our employee handbook and navigating a tricky wage classification issue. His background in Employment Law - Management, including the recognition from Best Lawyers, was evident in his thorough knowledge of Minnesota statutes. He provided clear, actionable advice on compliance matters that gave me confidence. However, my experience was a mixed bag. While the final work product was solid, communication was sometimes slower than I’d hoped, with responses taking a couple of days during a period I considered time-sensitive. For straightforward employment policy work, Daniel is certainly capable and leverages his decades of experience since graduating from the U of M in '94 effectively. I just expected a bit more proactive guidance and accessibility given the firm's reputation. He resolved our immediate issues adequately, but the process felt more transactional than collaborative.
