Competent handling of a complex energy contract dispute

Daniel Charest at Burns Charest LLP represented our mid-sized firm in a dispute over a joint operating agreement in the Permian Basin. His background in energy and securities litigation was evident; he clearly understood the technical and regulatory nuances. The outcome was favorable, protecting our investment. However, the experience was solidly adequate. Communication sometimes had delays, and we occasionally felt like just another file during busy periods. While his recognition in commercial litigation is well-deserved for his legal acumen, client management could be more proactive. For straightforward, complex energy-related legal matters, he is a capable attorney, but set clear expectations on responsiveness from the outset.
