Adequate representation for a complex regulatory filing

I engaged Dana Shelton of Stone Pigman to assist my small energy services company with a complex compliance filing before the Louisiana Public Service Commission. There is no question about her deep expertise in utilities and administrative law, which is clearly backed by her nearly three decades of experience and the professional recognition she has received. She understood the technical nuances of our case immediately, and her guidance on the regulatory strategy was sound. The final work product was thorough and met the legal requirements. However, the experience felt somewhat transactional. Communication was primarily through her associate, and responses to our follow-up emails often took several days, which created anxiety during tight deadlines. While the outcome was satisfactory, the process lacked the proactive updates and direct accessibility I expected given her seniority and the firm's reputation. For straightforward regulatory matters where cost-efficiency is key, she is a competent choice, but manage your expectations regarding client service and direct involvement.
