Competent and recognized, but communication could improve

I hired Dallas Flick from Crawford, Wishnew & Lang to handle a commercial dispute involving a breach of contract with a former business partner. His background from SMU and the recognition in Commercial Litigation by Best Lawyers were key factors in my decision. He demonstrated a solid understanding of the legal issues and his analysis of our potential appellate options was particularly thorough, reflecting his noted expertise in that area as well. The work product was competent and we achieved an acceptable settlement. However, my experience was mixed. There were periods where communication was slower than I would have liked, requiring follow-up on my part to get updates. While his legal acumen is evident for an attorney with his level of experience, managing client expectations on timelines and process could be more consistent. He is clearly knowledgeable, but the overall service felt more adequate than exceptional.
