Indispensable Counsel for Complex Energy Regulatory Matters

Our company faced a high-stakes, multi-party rate case before the Florida Public Service Commission that threatened to significantly impact our operational viability. The complexity of the regulatory landscape and the opposing arguments were daunting. We engaged D. Bruce May Jr. of Holland & Knight based on his sterling reputation, and it was the best decision we could have made. Bruce’s deep, 28-year immersion in Florida’s regulatory environment was immediately apparent. He didn’t just understand the law; he possessed an intuitive grasp of the Commission’s precedents and the nuanced dynamics at play. His leadership of the firm’s Public Utility practice meant he marshaled a perfectly coordinated team, yet his personal involvement in crafting our core strategy was hands-on and meticulous. Bruce translated highly technical energy market concepts into compelling, persuasive arguments that resonated with the commissioners. His recent recognition as ‘Lawyer of the Year’ in Energy Law was clearly well-earned, reflecting the caliber of strategic thinking he brought to our case. The outcome was not merely favorable; it was a foundational victory that provides long-term stability for our business. Bruce combines formidable expertise with a pragmatic, client-focused approach. He is more than an attorney; he is a strategic partner we trust implicitly with our most critical regulatory challenges.
