Competent corporate counsel, but communication was inconsistent

I engaged Cynthia Mabry at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher to assist with the formation and initial structuring of a family-owned manufacturing business in San Antonio. Her technical knowledge in corporate law was evident. She was thorough in drafting the operating agreement and her advice on liability protection was sound, aligning with her recognition in the field. However, the experience was somewhat mixed. While the final work product was solid, there were noticeable delays in email responses, sometimes taking several business days, which created anxiety during time-sensitive phases. For a firm of this caliber, I expected more proactive updates. Her three years of post-recognition experience showed in her grasp of the material, but the client service aspect felt more like that of a capable but very busy associate. She successfully navigated the regulatory requirements specific to Texas, but managing expectations on timelines could be improved. The outcome was satisfactory for our basic corporate needs, though the process required more follow-up on my part than anticipated.
