Competent and knowledgeable, but communication could improve

I hired Courtney McConomy at Sherr Puttmann Akins Lamb to assist with a complex child custody modification. Her background in family law, including her prior work at Hinds and Hinds Family Law, was evident. She clearly understood the nuances of Colorado family court, and her recognition in the field, like the Super Lawyers' Rising Star awards, seems well-earned based on her legal acumen. The outcome of my case was fundamentally sound, which is the most important thing. However, my experience was a mixed bag. While Courtney was sharp in meetings, communication between appointments was sometimes slow. Responses to emails could take several days, which added to my stress during an already difficult time. There were also a few instances where I felt my expectations about procedural timelines weren't fully managed. For straightforward legal matters, her 15 years of experience from the University of Denver J.D. program onward makes her a solid choice. Just be prepared to be proactive in following up if you need timely updates.
