Competent corporate guidance, but communication could improve

I engaged Corey Habib at Bernstein Shur for assistance with the sale of my small, family-owned manufacturing business in Portland. His background in corporate law and M&A, including the recognition from Best Lawyers, was evident in the thoroughness of the transaction documents and his grasp of the structural details. He was clearly knowledgeable and the work product was solid. However, my experience was a mixed bag. While Corey was responsive during scheduled calls, there were often significant delays in receiving follow-up emails or draft revisions, which added to my stress during a sensitive process. At times, I felt I had to follow up multiple times to get a status update. For straightforward corporate matters, his expertise is certainly adequate, and his five years of experience since graduating from New England Law shows. Yet, for clients who prioritize consistent, proactive communication and clear timelines, there may be room for improvement. The outcome was successful, but the process felt more reactive than I had hoped.
