Competent representation in a complex employment dispute

I hired Chris Cardwell of Gullett Sanford Robinson & Martin to represent my small business in a wrongful termination lawsuit filed by a former manager. His background in employment law for management was evident, and his 12 years of experience provided a solid foundation for our defense strategy. The recognition he has received in employment and labor litigation is well-earned regarding his legal acumen. Ultimately, the case was resolved favorably. However, the experience was not without its frustrations. Communication was sometimes slower than I would have preferred, with responses to emails taking several days during non-critical periods. At times, I felt like I had to follow up to get updates on procedural steps. While his legal work was sound and he clearly knows Tennessee employment law inside and out, managing client expectations and maintaining a consistent flow of information could be improved. He is a capable attorney who achieved the desired result, but the process required more proactive effort on my part than I anticipated.
