Experienced and knowledgeable, but communication could improve

I engaged Christian Waddell at Balch & Bingham for guidance on a municipal bond issuance related to a local infrastructure project. His deep experience in public finance and economic development law, honed over 27 years in Jackson, was immediately evident. He clearly understands the intricacies of Mississippi law, and his recognition by Best Lawyers in this specific field is well-deserved. The legal strategy and documentation he provided were solid. However, the experience was somewhat mixed. While the final work product was competent, there were periods where communication was slower than I would have preferred, making it difficult to get timely updates on routine questions. My expectations for responsiveness from a firm of this caliber were not fully met. For complex public finance matters, his expertise is undeniable, but be prepared to manage the communication flow proactively.
