Competent on IP matters, but communication could improve

I engaged Chloé Margulis at Barnes & Thornburg for guidance on a software patent application. Her background in Intellectual Property and Patent Law, including her recognition by Best Lawyers, was evident in her thorough analysis of the prior art. The legal strategy she drafted was solid. However, the experience was mixed. Responses to emails were sometimes delayed by several business days, which created anxiety during tight filing deadlines. While the final work product was technically proficient, I occasionally felt I had to follow up to stay in the loop on progress. For straightforward IP matters where timing is less critical, she is a capable attorney, but the client communication aspect fell short of expectations for the firm's reputation.
