Competent on corporate matters, but communication could improve

I engaged Chase Edmunds at Bracewell LLP for guidance on a mid-sized asset acquisition for my Dallas-based manufacturing company. Given his recognition in Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate Law by Best Lawyers, I had high expectations for the substantive work. In that regard, Mr. Edmunds was proficient. His analysis of the purchase agreement and his understanding of the securities implications for our private equity backers were solid, reflecting the expertise you'd expect from a Wake Forest-trained attorney in this field. However, the overall experience was mixed. While the final work product was thorough, there were noticeable delays in receiving drafts, and proactive updates were infrequent. I often had to follow up for status checks, which added some unnecessary stress to the timeline. For straightforward corporate transactions where you need capable legal analysis, he is a reasonable choice. Just be prepared to manage the communication flow and timeline expectations more actively than I anticipated. He knows his material, but the client service aspect felt just adequate.
