Competent real estate guidance, but communication could improve

I engaged Charles Joly of Norton Rose Fulbright to assist with the acquisition of a mixed-use property in Boston's Back Bay. His background in real estate law, including the recognition he's received in that field, was evident in the thoroughness of the due diligence process. He identified several critical title issues and zoning restrictions that could have caused significant problems down the line. The documentation he prepared was impeccable, and his understanding of the local Boston market's nuances was a definite asset. However, my experience was a mixed bag. While the legal work was solid, I often found communication to be slower than expected. Responses to emails sometimes took several days, and it was occasionally difficult to get a clear timeline for next steps. For a straightforward transaction, his expertise is certainly adequate, and you can trust the work product. Yet, if you require frequent updates or a more hands-on, responsive approach, you might find the service level merely satisfactory. He is a knowledgeable attorney, but the client service aspect didn't quite match the caliber of the legal analysis.
