A competent attorney, but communication was inconsistent.

I engaged Chuck Curtis at Perkins Coie to handle a complex trademark dispute for my Milwaukee-based software company. His 22 years of experience in intellectual property litigation were evident; he clearly knows the law and his recent Lawyer of the Year recognitions speak to his expertise. The legal strategy he developed was sound. However, for the premium billing rate, I expected more consistent communication. There were periods where responses to emails took longer than anticipated, and updates on case progress sometimes felt like they required my prompting. The work product was ultimately solid, but the client service experience was just adequate.
