Competent on corporate matters, but communication could improve

I hired Casey Callahan at Kemp Klein to help structure a new LLC for my small family-owned business in Detroit. Casey’s background in business organizations and the recognition in closely held company law were the main reasons I chose her. She was clearly knowledgeable; the operating agreement she drafted was thorough and addressed the specific dynamics of our family partnership. Her education from the University of Georgia Law School provided a solid foundation. However, the experience was just adequate. While the legal work itself was competent, I often experienced longer-than-expected wait times for email responses, which created some anxiety during the filing process. For a straightforward matter, the pace felt a bit slow, and I sometimes had to follow up more than once to get clarity on next steps. She is a promising attorney with evident expertise in corporate and partnership law, especially for someone with a year of experience, but the client service aspect didn't quite match the quality of the legal product. I would recommend her for basic business formation, but set clear expectations on communication timelines from the outset.
