Competent on IP matters, but communication could improve

I engaged Carlos Reyes and the team at OLIVARES to assist with securing trademark protection for a small hospitality brand I was launching, which operates both in Las Vegas and has potential expansion plans into Mexico. This created anxiety during time-sensitive phases of the process. Additionally, the fee structure, while explained, felt opaque as the project progressed, with a few unexpected administrative costs appearing. For straightforward IP filings where you are not in a rush, Carlos possesses the knowledge. Yet, for clients who prioritize consistent updates and clear, upfront communication on all aspects of engagement, there is room for improvement. He is undoubtedly skilled, but the client service experience felt just adequate.
