Competent and experienced, but communication could improve

I hired C. Kevin Leonard of Douglas, Leonard & Garvey to handle a complex severance negotiation after being laid off from a long-term management position. With his 32 years of experience and his recognition in Employment Law - Individuals, including the Lawyer of the Year awards, I felt confident in his legal strategy. His deep knowledge of New Hampshire employment law was evident, and he secured a better package than I initially expected. However, the experience was not without its frustrations. There were often significant delays in receiving responses to emails, sometimes stretching to several business days, which added to my stress during an already difficult time. While his paralegal was more accessible, direct updates from Mr. Leonard himself were infrequent. For straightforward legal matters, his expertise from the Franklin Pierce School of Law is undeniable, but managing client expectations and maintaining consistent communication seem to be secondary priorities. You get solid legal representation, but you need to be prepared for a process that requires patience on the administrative front.
