Competent on M&A, but communication could improve

I engaged Brian Teras at Arnall Golden Gregory to assist with the acquisition of a small competitor for my Atlanta-based tech firm. His foundational knowledge in Mergers and Acquisitions Law was evident, and his recognition by Best Lawyers in that field provided initial confidence. He capably handled the due diligence and the core transactional documents. However, the experience was somewhat mixed. While the legal work was solid, there were noticeable delays in receiving responses to emails, sometimes taking several business days, which added stress during time-sensitive negotiations. For a straightforward deal, his one year of focused experience post-recognition was sufficient, but I expected more proactive updates given the firm's reputation. He is clearly knowledgeable and got the job done, but the client service aspect felt just adequate, not exceptional.
