Competent in complex litigation, but communication could improve

I engaged Brandon Black of Jones Walker to handle a complex commercial dispute involving a construction contract for a healthcare facility. His deep experience, spanning nearly three decades, was evident. His background as a CPA and his recognition in litigation for construction and healthcare were precisely why we selected him. He understood the intricate financial and regulatory aspects of the case thoroughly. The legal strategy he developed was sound, and we achieved an acceptable settlement. However, the experience was not without its frustrations. At times, there were significant delays in receiving responses to emails, and updates on case developments often felt reactive rather than proactive. For a firm of Jones Walker's stature and an attorney with his listed accolades, I expected a more consistent level of client communication. He is undoubtedly a knowledgeable and capable attorney in Baton Rouge for complex commercial disputes, but managing client expectations could be more of a priority.
