Competent on corporate matters, but communication was inconsistent

Benjamin Martin at Bracewell LLP handled the acquisition of a small oilfield services company for our group. His knowledge of the energy sector and corporate law was evident, and his background in securities was crucial for the regulatory filings. The work product was solid and he is clearly recognized for his expertise. However, the experience was mixed. There were periods where we waited several days for responses to time-sensitive emails, which created some unnecessary anxiety. While the final outcome was satisfactory, the process felt less collaborative than expected. For straightforward corporate or energy transactions where you have some flexibility, he is a capable attorney, but be prepared to manage the communication flow proactively.
