Competent real estate guidance with some communication delays

I hired Beatrice Joan Davis from Howard Stallings to assist with a complex property line dispute that arose during a home purchase in Charlotte. Her background in Real Estate Law and the recognition she's received in that field were the primary reasons for my choice. Joan's analysis of the title documents and survey was thorough, and her advice on negotiating with the seller's attorney was legally sound and ultimately helped resolve the issue. She clearly knows North Carolina real estate law. However, the experience was somewhat mixed. While the legal work was competent, there were periods of several days where I received no updates, requiring me to follow up. For a process as stressful as a real estate closing, more proactive communication would have been appreciated. Her three years of focused experience showed in her grasp of the law, but the client service aspect felt like it was still developing. She is a capable attorney who achieved the necessary result, but managing client expectations could be improved.
