With regard to all intellectual property, B.C. Killough has:• obtained more than 300 United States patents for clients• participated in prosecuting more than 100 foreign patent applications• filed more than 1000 trademark applications with the US Patent and Trademark Office on behalf of his clients• obtained numerous foreign trademark registrations for clients• taught patent law to law students at a major university B.C. Killough’s patent experience includes work with clients in the fields of:• medical devices• medical diagnostic and surgical methods• physical chemistry• digital technology• telecommunications• electro-mechanical and mechanical devices• digital printing• licensing His foreign patent work includes participation in contested proceedings before the Opposition Division of the European Patent Office. Killough served as an Adjunct Professor of Patent Law at the University of South Carolina School of Law for six years. Killough serves on two South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA) Business and Science Advisory Boards – Biomedical Sciences and Industry 4.0 – the latter of which he serves as Chair. He also serves on SCRA’s Medical Device Commercialization Advisory Panel (MDCAP). B.C. Killough is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, an invitation-only trial lawyer honorary society. Killough regularly litigates intellectual property, unfair competition, and trade regulation matters before US District Courts, and trademark matters before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
