I engaged Barry Senterfitt at Greenberg Traurig for guidance during a complex acquisition of a small regional insurance agency. His deep knowledge of the insurance industry, built over nearly four decades, was immediately apparent. He clearly understood the regulatory landscape in Texas and his recent recognition in the field is well-earned. The legal work product itself was thorough and precise. However, my experience was a mixed bag. While Barry is undoubtedly an expert, I often felt like my matter was one of many on his desk. Response times to emails were inconsistent, sometimes taking several days, which created anxiety during time-sensitive negotiations. For a firm of this caliber and his level of seniority, I expected more proactive communication and clearer timelines. The billing was also substantial, which I anticipated, but the value felt diminished by the need for me to frequently follow up. In the end, the transaction closed successfully, but the process was more stressful than I believe it needed to be. He is a competent lawyer for insurance-related deals, but managing client expectations is an area for improvement.
