Competent but communication could be more consistent

I hired Avery Simmons at Bradley Arant to handle a commercial dispute related to a delayed warehouse construction project. My case involved contract interpretation and delay damages, which aligned well with Avery's recognized expertise in Commercial Litigation and Construction Law. Their legal analysis of the construction contracts and the initial strategy were sound, demonstrating the skilled advocacy mentioned in their profile. However, the experience was a mixed bag. While Avery's knowledge of North Carolina construction law was evident, communication was sometimes inconsistent. There were periods where I waited longer than expected for updates on procedural filings, and I occasionally had to follow up more than once to get clarity on next steps. The work product was professional, but the process felt less collaborative than I had hoped. For straightforward commercial or construction matters, Avery is a competent attorney who knows the law, but managing client expectations and proactive communication could be improved. The outcome of my case was acceptable, but the journey there highlighted areas for growth in client service.
