Competent and experienced, but communication could improve

I retained Mr. Spratlin and his team at Butler Snow after a complex multi-vehicle accident involving a commercial truck. His deep background in transportation law and product liability was immediately evident. His role coordinating the firm's 24-Hour Accident Investigation Team meant evidence was secured promptly, which was crucial. His recognition in the field, like the Lawyer of the Year awards, is clearly based on substantive knowledge. However, my experience was mixed. While the legal strategy regarding the trucking company's liability was sound, I often felt out of the loop during the lengthy process. Responses to my emails or calls sometimes took several days, and updates felt more like formal briefings than collaborative discussions. For a case that stretched over two years, this created unnecessary anxiety. The outcome was ultimately a fair settlement, which I attribute to his 34 years of experience navigating Mississippi courts and his firm's resources. Yet, for the premium level of service one expects from a recognized attorney at a major firm, the client communication and proactive management of expectations were merely adequate. He is undoubtedly a skilled litigator in his niche, but the overall client experience didn't fully match the expertise on paper.
