Competent on IP matters, but communication could improve

I engaged Armando Arenas at OLIVARES to assist with a trademark opposition proceeding for my small business. His knowledge of Intellectual Property Law was evident, and he was able to navigate the procedural aspects of the case with confidence, which aligns with the recognition he's received in that field. The work product was solid, and he clearly understands the administrative side of these matters. However, the experience was somewhat mixed. While he is undoubtedly competent, there were periods where communication was slower than I would have preferred, sometimes taking several days for a reply to a non-urgent email. This made managing my own expectations and timeline a bit challenging. For straightforward administrative or IP filings, I believe he is a capable attorney, especially given his focused experience in these areas over the past few years in Philadelphia. For clients who need very hands-on, frequent updates, it may be worth setting very clear communication expectations upfront. He got the job done adequately, but the process felt a bit more detached than I had hoped.
