I engaged Anne Yearwood at Hecker Fink LLP for a breach of contract dispute involving a former business partner. Her background in commercial litigation from the University of Michigan Law School was evident, and her recognition by Best Lawyers gave me confidence in her technical ability. The core legal strategy she developed was sound, and she navigated the procedural aspects of New York courts effectively. However, my experience was mixed. While the outcome of our settlement negotiations was ultimately satisfactory, there were periods where communication was slower than I expected. Updates sometimes felt reactive rather than proactive, requiring me to follow up for status reports. For straightforward legal matters, her expertise is clear and she knows the landscape. Yet, for clients who prioritize consistent, anticipatory communication as part of the service, there is room for improvement. She is undoubtedly a knowledgeable attorney in her field, but managing client expectations around responsiveness would elevate the experience significantly.
