Competent and recognized, but communication could improve

I engaged Andrea Phillips at Cohen Clair Lans Greifer & Simpson to assist with a complex postnuptial agreement. Her background from Columbia Law and her recognition in family law by Best Lawyers were significant factors in my choice. In handling the financial disclosures and drafting, her legal competence was evident; she was thorough and understood the nuances of New York statutes. However, my experience was mixed. While the final document was solid, there were periods of several days where I received no updates, requiring me to follow up repeatedly. Wait times for returned calls or emails were sometimes longer than expected. For a straightforward matter, she is undoubtedly capable, and her firm's reputation is strong. Yet, for clients who prioritize consistent, proactive communication as part of the service, there is room for improvement. She delivered on the core legal work, but the client management aspect felt just adequate.
