Competent on environmental matters, but communication was inconsistent

I engaged Andrea C. Akelaitis of Letcher Akelaitis LLP for guidance on a complex permitting issue related to a small-scale commercial development in Jacksonville. Her background, including her recognition in Environmental Law by Best Lawyers, was a primary factor in our selection. Her technical knowledge of regulatory frameworks was evident and ultimately helped us navigate the state and local requirements. However, the experience was mixed. While the legal work itself was solid, communication was sometimes a challenge. There were periods of several days where our emails went unanswered, and updates often felt reactive rather than proactive. For straightforward legal analysis, she is clearly capable, but managing client expectations around timelines and availability could be improved. The outcome of our matter was satisfactory, but the process required more follow-up on our end than I would have preferred given her decade of experience.
