Competent real estate guidance, but communication could improve

I hired Andrea Austin at Greenberg Traurig to assist with the acquisition of a small commercial property in Denver. Her background in real estate law, including her recognition by Best Lawyers since 2021, gave me confidence in her technical expertise, which was solid. She was thorough in reviewing the purchase agreement and title documents, and her analysis of the zoning implications was particularly sharp, reflecting her four years of focused practice. However, the experience was a mixed bag. While the legal work itself was competent, I often experienced significant delays in receiving responses to my emails, sometimes waiting several days for a reply on time-sensitive matters. This created some unnecessary anxiety during the process. My expectations for a firm of this caliber included more proactive updates. That said, the transaction closed successfully without any legal hiccups. Andrea clearly knows Colorado real estate law, but the client service aspect felt just adequate. For straightforward matters where immediate communication isn't critical, she is a capable attorney. For more complex or fast-moving deals, you might need to set very clear expectations upfront regarding response times.
