Competent on complex M&A, but communication could improve

Amy Curtis at Holland & Knight handled the acquisition of a smaller competitor for our Dallas-based manufacturing firm. Her 27 years of experience in mergers and securities law were evident; she was thorough with the due diligence and the asset purchase agreement. Her recognition in corporate governance was reassuring for such a sensitive transaction. However, the process felt somewhat impersonal. Responses to emails were sometimes delayed by a full business day, which created anxiety during time-sensitive negotiations. While the legal work was solid and she clearly knows the intricacies of Texas corporate law from her SMU background, managing client expectations on timelines and maintaining proactive communication fell short of our hopes. She is a capable attorney, but the overall experience was just satisfactory.
