Aliza R. Cinamon

Competent on environmental compliance, but communication was inconsistent

I engaged Aliza Cinamon and her team at Proskauer Rose to assist my manufacturing company with a complex state-level environmental compliance review. Her recognition in the field, including the Best Lawyers acknowledgment, was a primary factor in our selection, and her foundational knowledge from nearly three decades of practice since her Brooklyn Law School graduation was evident. She provided a thorough analysis of our permitting issues under New York's regulatory framework, and the final work product was technically sound. However, the experience fell short of expectations in a few key areas. While Ms. Cinamon was insightful in our meetings, responsiveness between those sessions was often delayed, with junior associates sometimes providing updates that lacked the clarity we needed. For a firm of Proskauer's stature, we anticipated a more streamlined and proactive communication protocol. The billing also reflected the firm's premium rates, which, while not surprising, made the intermittent communication feel more pronounced. In summary, Ms. Cinamon is undoubtedly a knowledgeable attorney in environmental law, but the overall client service and management of our matter felt merely adequate, not exceptional.
