Alison H. Sausaman is a shareholder in Carr Allison’s Jacksonville (FL) office where she practices in the areas of premises liability, retail and hospitality, transportation, government torts and public liability and labor and employment. Alison is admitted to practice in Florida and before the US District Court for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.Alison received her Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University, graduating with honors and earned her Juris Doctor from Florida State University College of Law. While in law school she served as general counsel of the Florida State University Supreme Court, the business relations editor of the Florida State University Business Review, a student member of the Chester Bedell Inn of Court and a Senior Member of the Florida State University Law Review. Alison’s first article titled, “Saved by the Bell? Is Online, Off-Campus Student Speech Protected by the First Amendment?” was published in the Fall 2013 edition of Florida State University Law Review.Alison is a member of the Florida Bar, the Florida Defense Lawyers Association (FDLA) and the Jacksonville Bar Association. She currently serves as chair of FDLA's Governmental Law Committee. In 2016, Alison received the Florida Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Michael K. Reese Quality of Life Award. The Award is bestowed upon the person and/or entity that, through humanitarian respect, advances balance and fulfillment in lawyers’ lives by redefining current work habits and schedules to provide more flexibility and a more meaningful existence, which Alison accomplished by founding the Health and Wellness Committee, which began a “yoga on the courthouse lawn” and “walk and talk” series. Alison has also been included in The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch®since 2022 and Florida Super Lawyers® Rising Stars since 2018. Alison H.
