Bio

Alicia is an experienced litigator who represents clients in all areas of commercial and civil litigation, including complex contract disputes, corporate dissolution proceedings and business divorces, shareholder derivative actions, employment disputes, premises liability, insurance coverage matters, and others. Alicia also defends small and mid-sized businesses in lawsuits filed under the Americans with Disabilities Act.In her more than a decade of private practice, Alicia has been a proud and trusted advocate and advisor to her clients and has perfected her approach to personalized client service. She starts each matter with a focus on learning her client’s individual personal and professional goals and remains attentive and responsive to her clients and those goals throughout the representation. By doing so, she is able to tailor and pursue strategies to advance her clients’ objectives in litigation or, in some cases, to avoid litigation altogether. Alicia’s creative and analytical approach to litigation and to the challenges faced by individuals and businesses often enables her to frame offensive and defensive litigation and pre-litigation strategies and arguments that other law firms overlook.Prior to joining Yankwitt LLP, Alicia honed her litigation skills at global law firm Shearman & Sterling and national law firm Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler, where she successfully represented a foreign manufacturing company in a bet-the-company litigation against its joint venture partner and defended multinational companies in Lanham Act and false advertising class action lawsuits. Alicia also spent two consecutive years clerking in the White Plains federal courthouse – first for Judge Kenneth M. Karas, and then for Judge Cathy Seibel. Competent handling of a complex partnership dispute

Alicia Tallbe at Yankwitt LLP represented me in a difficult business divorce involving my former partner. Her deep experience in corporate dissolution proceedings and commercial litigation was evident from the start. She is a sharp litigator who clearly knows her way around a contract dispute, and her recognition in Super Lawyers is well-deserved. The legal strategy she developed was sound and ultimately led to a settlement that protected my interests. However, the process felt somewhat impersonal at times. Communication could be slow, with responses sometimes taking several days, which added to my stress during an already tense situation. While I was satisfied with the legal outcome, I had hoped for a more proactive and consistent dialogue throughout the case. For straightforward, complex commercial matters where you need a capable attorney, she is a solid choice, but be prepared to manage your expectations regarding client communication.
