Competent on employment issue, but communication was inconsistent

I hired Sasha Thaler at Constangy Brooks to advise on a severance agreement after a layoff from my job in Indianapolis. Her background in labor and employment law was evident; she quickly identified the non-compete clause that needed negotiation and referenced relevant state precedents. Her recognition in this practice area seems well-earned based on her technical knowledge. However, my experience was mixed. While the final outcome was satisfactory, there were periods of several days where I received no response to my emails, which added to my stress during an already difficult time. When we did connect, her advice was clear and helpful. For straightforward employment matters, she is certainly capable, but I would have appreciated more proactive updates and clearer timelines on her availability. She handled the core legal work competently, but the client service aspect felt just adequate.
