Competent on IP matters, but communication could be clearer

I engaged Alexa Von Uexküll of Vossius & Partner to assist with a trademark opposition proceeding for my small design firm. Her background in Intellectual Property Law was evident; she understood the nuances of the case quickly and her analysis of the opposing party's claims was sharp. Her recognition in the field is well-deserved from a technical standpoint. The strategy she devised was sound and ultimately helped us reach a settlement. However, the experience felt somewhat transactional. While she was always professional, responses to emails often took several days, and explanations of complex legal steps were sometimes delivered in dense legalese without much translation. For a five-year attorney, I expected a bit more proactive guidance on the broader business implications of our legal choices. She is undoubtedly knowledgeable and got the job done competently, but the client service aspect felt just adequate. I would recommend her for straightforward IP matters where you have some existing legal familiarity.
